Central Wisconsin BMX

The sport of bicycle motocross (BMX) began in the early 1970s in southern California and since then has been sweeping the country. Central Wisconsin BMX is constructed in a natural amphitheater with a full view of each race from start to finish.  The track is 1,075 feet long and includes a start hill over 10 feet tall, a permanent awning over staging and start gate, pro gate, blacktop turns, and a sealed track surface.

The Pittsville River Bandits are an amateur men’s baseball team that compete in the Wisconsin Dairyland League which includes the Rapids Redhawks and the Marshfield Chaparrals.

South Wood County (SWC) YMCA has two locations meeting the needs of the community: Wisconsin Rapids and Port Edwards. In addition to the two facilities, SWC YMCA Camp Alexander is located on a lake near Wisconsin Rapids. Kids can enjoy a variety of activities year-round, and facility rentals are available to the public. Come visit SWC YMCA – there’s SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!

Dedicated to providing a safe, fun, healthy environment for families to experience skating the SWCRC was envisioned and created by dedicated volunteers in the community. Home to the South Wood County Youth Hockey Association, the Wisconsin Rapids Figure Skating Club, and the USPHL Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings. The facility is available for rentals and hosts many off season events including, Flyball Frenzy. A great venue for groups! Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings Hockey

The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings, are a Junior Hockey Team within the U.S. Premier Hockey League. Coach Paul Pechmann believes in “building hockey up and down the river,” and the Riverkings program focuses on the development and advancement of players to the next level. Come watch the Riverkings heat up the ice at the South Wood County Recreation Center! 

Wisconsin Rapids Rafters Baseball

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters play in the Northwoods League, which is a summer collegiate baseball league comprised top players from across North America. The experience is similar to a professional minor league team, using wooden bats, minor league specification baseballs, and providing entertainment on and off the field.
