Deer Trail Park Campground offers the kind of comfort and convenience you expect, at very reasonable rates for family camping. Located on the shores of Ross Lake, the campground offers 166 sites with water and electricity. Campground facilities include showers, grocery/camping store, heated pool, miniature golf, arcade, chucker big ball golf, and other recreational activities. When you're ready to just sit and listen to the quiet, pull up a chair and have a seat - we have plenty of quiet to go around! Open seasonally.

Located 6 miles south of Pittsville, the park surrounds the 298-acre Lake Dexter, famous for its acres of wildlife and game fish. Totaling more than 1,200 acres, the park offers 95 campsites, 77 of which are electrical. Campground facilities include showers, picnic areas, boat launch, beach area, and an enclosed shelter. The park provides a scenic, undeveloped, wooded area for users. The Wood County Park & Forestry Department takes campsite reservation up to 11 months in advance. On-site registration for non-reserved sites begins April 29 at the campground, through the park closing date, October 31. This Park is open through deer gun season.

Pineland Camping Park offers a relaxing and enjoyable envirnment for permanent and weekend campers of all ages. All the amenities of a modern campground, including a playground, heated swimming pool, showers, bar and game room, outdoor stage and BBQ.

Sandhill Wildlife Area offers a couple of primitive campgrounds with pit toilets, picnic tables and pump water (at some sites). The sites are free, year-round, during all-hunting seasons, and on a first-come, first-served basis. No reservations are available.

Wood County maintains three public campgrounds open from May-October. Dexter Park campground is open through deer gun season. Make reservations in advance by calling during normal business hours.
